Established in 1995, the Academy for Severe Handicaps and Autism (ASHA) is dedicated to providing education and a comprehensive set of therapies to individuals with autism spectrum disorders. Over the past two decades, ASHA has developed extensive expertise in addressing the diverse needs of over 500 individuals and their families, helping them achieve progress and independence.
We strive to provide exceptional love, care, hope, and educational assistance to children with special needs, enabling them to develop and utilize their full potential.
ASHA began in 1995 with just three children in a small rented building in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. In 2004, the school moved to its own building in Basaveshwarnagar. Today, 103 children between the ages of 3 to 24 years receive training and therapy through our day school program.
Recognizing the importance of early support, ASHA launched a separate Early Intervention Program in 2018 and established a dedicated center in 2021. This program specifically caters to children aged 2 to 6 years and includes a mother’s training component, empowering parents to actively engage in their child's development.
To ensure effective learning, ASHA maintains a student-teacher ratio of 2:1 in each classroom. Children also participate in group sessions and circle time, fostering social skill development.
