About Us

Akal Academy is a chain of CBSE-affiliated schools established by The Kalgidhar Trust with campuses across rural India. The academy is known for its focus on spiritual values, academic excellence, and rural empowerment. Akal Academy integrates modern teaching with value-based education in a peaceful, drug-free environment. The school empowers children through moral instruction, English-medium learning, and technology-enabled classrooms. With a mission to uplift rural education, the academy provides ample opportunities for educators who wish to make a difference. Akal Academy is a chain of 129 co-educational English medium low cost public schools following CBSE curriculum and affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the rural areas of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. The students are mostly from the deprived sections of society, admitted regardless of caste, creed, region, religion and social status.

OUR VISION

Incorporated in Guru Granth Sahib, the above divine verse exhorts and stresses that the ones who are educated will always have a universal outlook and will use education for the betterment and welfare of human-kind.

OUR MISSION

The world today needs men and women who are honest, virtuous, selfless and compassionate and can show restraint despite extreme provocation; also who can show the path of love and have the capacity to give without yearning for returns.

To fulfil this acute need of developing human beings with such sterling qualities and lofty ideals, our founding father Sant Attar Singh Ji declared our Mission Statement in 1906, almost eight decades before the first Akal Academy was established, that reads: “To establish permanent peace in the world through value-based scientific education and spiritual upliftment, and provide solace and succor to the downtrodden and the deprived.”

Akal Academy aims at developing young people to cultivate a mind imbued with spirit of inquiry, thirst for knowledge, respect for diverse world cultures and a keen desire to serve the community in which they live and work, as well as aspire to serve humanity at large through their spiritual values and knowledge acquired through modern education.

Akal Academy Baru Sahib enshrines a culture traditionally rich, socially healthy, and environmentally friendly. While the lifestyle of students is inspired by the ideal Sikh way of life, all efforts are made to nurture the talents of blooming students by providing them with state-of-the-art infrastructure, dedicated and skilled faculty, and a truly homely atmosphere.

Students from all over India and 16 countries study at Akal Academy, Baru Sahib. Despite such diversity, all students, irrespective of their background, have access to the same facilities and opportunities. This diversity helps Indian students to interact with students from other countries and develop an international perspective of all the subjects and thoughts. It is this exchange of culture and human values that make Akal Academy, Baru Sahib distinct from other schools.
